Job Description
Title
Cath Lab Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Schedule
On-call: Minimum one weekday and one weekend per month
Shift lengths: Typically 8- or 10-hour shifts (can vary based on staffing/vacation)

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Key clinical skills:
- Blood/blood product administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Obtain 12-lead EKG
- Syringe pump use
- Cooling/warming blanket use
- Monitoring/administration of procedural sedation; interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Assistance with central line insertion/management, sheath removal/monitoring

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures.
- Monitor patients pre, intra, and post-procedure to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and provide sedation as necessary during procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond to emergencies and implement appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures and post-procedural care.

Compliance / Notes
- Travel contract eligibility: Perm candidates from any facility eligible if separated = 3 months
- References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years (may include Charge RNs/Lead)
- Pre-start modules required (average ~16 hours); completed annually; time is self-reported in Workramp
