IT SpecialistThe IT Specialist is a hands-on, customer-focused technologist who keeps Bald Mountain's users productive and our site technology resilient. You'll split time between first-line/second-line support and ownership of core systems: Windows servers/Active Directory, IGA (Identity Governance and Administration), Nutanix-based virtualization and storage, Cisco switching and fiber, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless links, and Dell client endpoints. You'll also collaborate with OT and plant teams to support industrial networks and site infrastructure.Essential FunctionsEnd-user support & customer serviceServer/virtualization & storageNetwork / Wireless / TelephonyOT & site technologyLifecycle, documentation & complianceOn-call & field workQualifications and Skill Requirements3+ years in IT support/operations with demonstrated customer service mindset.Solid skills with Windows client/Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, GPO, and endpoint management; strong troubleshooting across OS/app/network stacks.Hands-on experience with Cisco switching and fiber (port/VLAN provisioning, SFPs, optics, link testing).Working knowledge of wireless links (P2P/PMP) and fundamentals like RSSI/SNR, alignment, and link budgets.Familiarity with virtualization and enterprise storage (Nutanix preferred) and backup/recovery workflows.Ability to create and deliver clear user training and concise documentation.Valid driver's license; ability to safely work at heights/rack spaces and lift up to ~50 lbs; willingness to work outdoors in a mine environment.Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive business or personal information.Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with Kinross data protection and privacy standards.Preferred ExperienceCertifications: CompTIA A+/Network+, CCNA, Microsoft MD-102/Windows, AZ-104, Nutanix NCP.Experience in OT/industrial networks and CPwE concepts; exposure to SCADA/historian connectivity.Scripting/automation (PowerShell), imaging tools, and endpoint security/patching platforms.Familiar with JDE system for equipment procurement.Health, Safety, and Environmental RequirementsComplies with all Kinross & Nevada sites health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.Have a strong commitment to safe working practices.Is alert and observes, corrects, and reports unsafe conditions.Follows operating procedures and complies with all regulatory requirements.Kinross CompetenciesStrategic Effectiveness Develop and communicate rigorous and creative business strategies that drive sustainable value.External Engagement Understand and build relationships with external parties that strengthen and sustain competitive advantage.Business Focus Apply commercial rigor and discipline to all business decisions and customer relationships.Living the Kinross Values Align personal behavior, decisions, and actions with Kinross values and principles.Legislative RequirementsBackground Check requiredUS work permit requiredLanguage Requirements English
