LECO has spent 80+ years building world-class laboratory instruments and a reputation for long-term stability, trust, and innovation. We’re hiring a full-time, remote Service Engineer to support analytical and metallographic systems across the Southeastern U.S.

Quick Facts

• Schedule: Full time, remote, salaried with regular travel
• Territory: Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina (plus surrounding regions as needed)
• Home Base: Ideal candidates live near Atlanta, GA
• Travel: On the road up to 5 days/week; up to 4 overnights (Mon–Fri)
• Bonus: $5,000 signing bonus

What challenges will you tackle?

• Keep advanced instruments running: perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and complete corrective repairs.
• Launch new systems: install equipment, apply updates, and integrate upgrade kits.
• Elevate user confidence: train customers on theory, operation, software, and care routines.
• Protect quality: follow LECO’s ISO-accredited procedures and documentation requirements.

What do we look for?

• Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Professional conduct and strict adherence to each site’s safety policies.
• Organized, detail-oriented approach to planning and documentation.
• Willingness to attend 3–5 months of instrumentation training in St. Joseph, MI, complete field shadowing with senior engineers nationwide, and participate in annual training.
• Comfort with daily travel and frequent hotel stays during the week.
• Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with AC/DC electronics (or ability to learn quickly).
• Chemistry or military experience is helpful but not required.
• Personal credit card or ability to obtain one.

Education/Training

• Two-Year Technical Degree or Trade School; or
• Military technical training; or
• Equivalent technical experience/training.
