Travel RN Job Details

• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation
• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Contract: 13 weeks, starting December 14, 2026
• Schedule: 12-hour variable day and night shifts, including approximately 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m. schedules
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Unit: 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4–1:6 on evening shifts and 1:8 on nights
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience preferred

Inpatient Rehabilitation RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
• At least 1 year of recent inpatient hospital nursing experience; medical-surgical or inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred
• Knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation nursing and experience caring for patients recovering from stroke, trauma, debility, amputation, and cardiac conditions
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to float to other inpatient units as needed
• Strong adaptability, resilience, communication skills, and a collaborative approach to patient care

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients participating in inpatient rehabilitation
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate progress toward functional goals
• Support recovery for patients with stroke, trauma, debility, amputation, and cardiac-related diagnoses
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for changes in patient status
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing colleagues, patients, and families as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
• Promote patient education, mobility, independence, and safe transitions of care
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Float to other inpatient units when needed and maintain flexibility in a changing clinical environment
