Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility with a licensed bed capacity of 54 and an average daily census of 52-54 is seeking a Director of Pharmacy who will also serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge. This role is vital in ensuring smooth pharmacy operations and staffing coverage through a temporary assignment starting October 1st, lasting approximately 13 weeks until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired. The position operates primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities and occasional weekend coverage from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Texas Pharmacist license required
• Experience working in inpatient pharmacy settings
• Knowledge or experience in behavioral health pharmacy is a plus
• Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred but not required

Location:

• Sulphur Springs, TX

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy staffing and daily operations, maintaining efficient medication distribution to adult patients (18+)
• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Participate actively in Director of Pharmacy committee work
• Provide guidance and support for staff including 1 full-time technician, 1 part-time technician, 3 per diem technicians, 3 per diem pharmacists, and 1 part-time pharmacist
• Overlap and collaborate with the outgoing Director of Pharmacy to facilitate a seamless transition

Additional Details:

• Pharmacy operates with 1 pharmacist and 1 technician per shift who handle order filling, deliveries, and inventory management
• The site has a stable environment but is currently addressing some staffing challenges
• Last Joint Commission visit was on 9/17/25
