Pay Range: $30.00hr - $40.00hr

Job Overview:

This position operates within the flow cytometry department and requires flow experience. The role is a full-time contract assignment with potential for temp-to-hire transition.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred.
• Transcripts will be requested for review throughout the consideration process.
• One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.
• Experience with LC-MS or ICP-MS is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 1 to 10 pounds frequently.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 11 to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 36 to 50 pounds seldomly.
• Ability to lift and carry objects over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk and stand frequently.
• Ability to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments demanding significant manual dexterity.
