Position Description Torque by Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Miami, FL. Hourly Pay: $36.00 per hour based on experience. Retention Bonus: $2000 paid every quarter within the first year. Schedule: Flexible 40‑hour work week (weekend premiums apply). Fuel card and company cell phone provided. Mobile technicians will receive a work site service vehicle. Additional training provided to advance career. Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO in the first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms & boot allowance Paid training to build your skills Safety‑first workplace & state‑of‑the‑art equipment Top Tech Competition: Earn $250 – $50,000 per year U.S. military veterans receive an extra paid day off 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or Technical Certification or Post Secondary degree, preferred Basic tools required Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment Valid CDL Class A or Class E (or other state license as required) Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test and background check Experience with routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake and tire work, diagnostics, AC, electrical, and advanced engine repairs Ability to understand and adhere to company policies, complete repair orders, maintain professional relationships, work independently and as part of a team, prioritize workload, and demonstrate strong communication skills Required certifications and training within 90–180 days (PM, brakes, A/C, electrical, diagnostic tools) Responsibilities Interact with customers, manage accounts, and facilitate preventive maintenance, repair issue resolution, and new repair estimates. Coordinate work schedule as required by customers and conduct road tests to identify causes of complaints. Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs, including A/C, brakes‑air, brakes‑hydraulic, liftgates, charging systems, clutch, cooling, cranking, lighting, drive axles, driveline, gas engines, fuel systems, and thorough PM tasks. Use the Shop Management System and electronic documentation to comply with federal, provincial and corporate guidelines. Maintain all safety and environmental records. Mentor SM II level technicians. Perform any other duties as assigned. Additional Conditions This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. Onboarding includes a drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check, including verification of prior drug and alcohol status.
