Job Title: HVAC Technician (Facilities Level II)

Type: 6-Month Contract to Hire

Shift: Monday–Friday (standard business hours)

Pay Rate: $28–$33/hour

 

Position Overview

Seeking an HVAC Technician to support facilities operations, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of building systems. This is a backfill role supporting a growing lab and office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems including:
• • VAV boxes
  • Fan coils and air handlers
  • Hydronic systems (boilers and chillers)
• Monitor and operate building management systems (BMS)
• • Ensure proper function of valves, dampers, and controls
• Diagnose system issues such as leaks, faulty coils, or airflow problems
• Support refrigeration systems including mobile freezers and lab equipment
• Coordinate with vendors for major repairs and escalations
• Perform preventative maintenance and system checks
• Navigate facility spaces including ladders, stairs, and tight areas

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–4+ years of HVAC experience in commercial environments
• EPA Refrigeration Certification
• Experience with chilled water and heating systems
• Familiarity with BMS systems and controls
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting lab or pharmaceutical environments
• Experience with Thermo Scientific refrigeration units
• Exposure to mini-split systems

Additional Details

• Role is a backfill for a recently vacated position
• Will support continued facility expansion and operations
