Mechanical Design EngineerThe Mechanical Design Engineer collaborates with a local team or global engineering team on product design which satisfy customer specifications. This process includes design, product validation, completing documentation and executing launch items for production. Complete all related drawings, documentation and release in internal systems.General ResponsibilitiesAssists with static, dynamic design, and analysis of electro-mechanical componentsPerforms design verification on original and/or derivative design by collecting empirical data through experimental methods. Manipulate and synthesize the data to make design recommendations based off of the testingParticipates in feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Work closely with support personnel (technicians and drafting teams) in the preparation of detailed technology selection, conceptual design, detail design and prototypingCoordinates failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluationsHas a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transferExperience / QualificationsA university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experienceMust be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demandsStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentationStrong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve resultsStrong personal and professional ethical values and integrityHolds self-accountable to achieving goals and standardsProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers2-4 years experience in Aerospace in a Design Engineer or Project Engineer role is a plusThis position requires eligibility to obtain authorization under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
