Clinical Research Physician - Development, Neuroscience

Job Overview The Development Clinical Research Physician (CRP) participates in the development, conduct, medical monitoring, and reporting of corporate/global clinical trials in support of registration and commercialization of the product; implements global clinical trials; reports adverse events as mandated by corporate patient safety; reviews protocols, study reports, manuscripts, and data dissemination documents; contacts regulatory agencies; reaches out to the external clinical customer community; develops and implements the business unit and global strategy for the product; and performs various medical activities in support of demand realization. The CRP serves as a scientific resource for study teams, departments, and others as needed. Responsibilities Clinical Planning: Ongoing clinical trial monitoring, oversee patient safety, collaborate with business units and cross‑functional teams, contribute to clinical strategy and plans, understand pre‑clinical and clinical data. Clinical Research / Trial Execution and Support: Review scientific content of clinical documents, provide oversight and input into ICDs, collaborate with staff in design, conduct and reporting of local trials, review risk profiles, participate in investigator identification, ensure administrative requirements for study initiation are completed, assist in planning process, support and train investigators, serve as resource to clinical operations personnel, review IIT proposals and publications. Scientific Data Dissemination / Exchange: Ensure compliance with local laws and global policies, address unsolicited scientific information needs of external professionals, support reporting of clinical trial data, support symposia and advisory board meetings, prepare scientific information for customer questions or media, provide telephone follow‑up, support data analysis and slide set and publication development, establish and maintain collaborations with experts and professional societies, support customer research as medical expert, support training of medical personnel, provide congress support, participate in data analysis and final reports. Regulatory Support Activities: Participate in label changes and labeling modifications, provide medical expertise to regulatory scientists, support regulatory reports (NDAs, FDA annual reports, PADERS), prepare for FDA advisory committee hearings and label discussions, participate in advisory committees, participate in risk management planning, assist in regulatory response. Business / Customer Support: Contribute to medical strategies supporting brand commercialization, understand scientific information needs of customers, address customer questions, establish collaborations with marketing personnel, maintain contact with external experts, contribute to PRA organization and payer partnership programs, support business‑to‑business and government activities as medical expert, contribute to strategic planning, support promotional materials, define Patient Journey and Moments of Truth, participate in trade associations. Scientific / Technical Expertise and Development: Critically read and evaluate medical literature, stay updated on clinical practice and access trends, provide scientific training to study team, act as scientific consultant and protocol expert, attend scientific symposia, pursue extramural scientific experiences. General Responsibilities: Support budget preparation and administration, pursue professional development goals, participate in recruitment, diversity and retention efforts, collaborate with alliance and vendor partners, provide coaching and feedback, participate in committees and Six Sigma initiatives, maintain qualifications and training, model leadership behaviors, be an ambassador for patients and the Lilly Brand. Qualifications Psychiatrist – Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy. Board eligible or certified in psychiatry, or completed comparable post‑medical school clinical training. US‑trained physicians must have board eligibility or certification. Non‑US trained physicians must meet LCME education and training requirements. Clinical research experience in psychiatry strongly preferred. Minimum 3years of clinical development experience in an industry setting (or equivalent) or 5years in an academic setting. Demonstrated knowledge of drug development process. Fluent in English (written and verbal). Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, teamwork and negotiation skills. Ability to influence others across functions. Domestic and international travel as required. Additional Preferences Clinical research experience in psychiatry. 3+ years industry clinical development experience or 5+ years academic research experience. Location and Working Arrangements Primary location: Indianapolis, US. A remote/hybrid position can be considered for the right candidate, with travel to Lilly Headquarters at regular intervals and as needed. Compensation Anticipated wage: $198,000 – $356,400. Full‑time employees are eligible for company bonus (depending on company and individual performance).
