Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Garden City, Kansas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/21/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 21, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Nights RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP position requiring 2 years of LDRP experience, an active KS or compact RN license, and the ability to float across L&D, PP, and Mother/Baby units.Details\n \n Acute care hospital setting on a Trauma Level 3 LDRP unit combining L&D, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby care\n 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed\n Average of 1.5 births per day and 50-60 births per month\n Unit follows AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines\n Night shift, 12-hour shifts, working every other weekend\n Required to float between L&D, PP, and MB/Baby units, with additional helping hands support to other units as needed\n On-call/standby requirements apply per hospital policy\n Charge nurse typically carries a patient assignment\n 1 surgical tech supports the unit; no adult telemetry monitoring but fetal monitoring is required using GE and OBIX EFM systems\n OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia providers are not in-house 24/7\n Uses Epic EMR\n Requirements\n \n Active KS or compact RN license required\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n LDRP experience with couplet care required\n Circulating in OR required\n Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring\n Must be able to titrate drips, including pitocin\n Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby units\n Assist other units as needed through helping hands support\n Any professional-colored scrubs permitted\n No holiday coverage requirement\n Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility\n A float radius policy applies, and travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet float zone requirements\n Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity affiliated facility within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered\n Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if first-day modules are completed remotely\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-748654.
