Accountant

Our finance department is looking for a meticulous Accountant who possesses practical experience within the manufacturing sector. This position is perfect for a professional familiar with the unique financial cycles of production, inventory management, and cost accounting who is eager to contribute to our team. You will play a vital role in upholding the integrity of our financial documentation, assisting with the monthly closing process, and verifying that all practices align with internal controls and GAAP standards. By collaborating with various departments, you will provide the essential financial insights needed to drive daily operations and assist leadership in making strategic business choices. Core Duties Generate and evaluate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to ensure GAAP adherence Manage general ledger tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and the month-end closing cycle Execute balance sheet reconciliations while providing support for accounts payable and receivable functions Oversee bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to help maintain accurate account analysis Contribute to forecasting and budgeting efforts by applying your knowledge of manufacturing cost structures Help track production-related expenses, cost of goods sold, and work-in-progress inventory to ensure accurate reporting Facilitate internal and external audit processes while upholding SOX compliance and internal control standards Create detailed financial reports to assist management in reviewing company performance Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or comparable systems Work alongside various departments and provide guidance to junior team members to foster a collaborative environment Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline Proven background in manufacturing-focused accounting, specifically regarding inventory, production finance, or cost accounting Comprehensive knowledge of accrual accounting, general ledger practices, and GAAP Practical experience handling financial reporting, reconciliations, and the month-end close Competency in using accounting platforms like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft High level of precision and the ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks Strong analytical capabilities to resolve complex financial problems Effective communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration across the organization Desired Qualifications Background in standard costing, inventory valuation, or cost accounting Familiarity with supporting audits and maintaining SOX compliance Experience assisting with forecasting and budget planning within a manufacturing context Compensation and Perks Retirement savings plan with employer matching Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Protection through life and disability insurance Generous paid time off Additional Benefits 401(k) retirement options Medical insurance Paid leave for illness We’re constantly adding fresh industrial positions from Atlanta’s top employers.
