Senior Accountant

LHH is seeking Senior Accountant candidates for a great open-ended contract position that can be temp to hire with a top company in Hauppauge. This is an on-site position requiring full-time presence in office. The desired candidate will have previous experience working in accounting or finance with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. The pay rate for this position is $36 - $42 an hour and $75,000 - $95,000/annually.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

• Analyze financial results and variances, providing insights to leadership

• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting standards

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls

• Maintain and update financial records, systems, and reporting tools

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of experience in accounting or finance

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)

• Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week
