Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating high-speed food production machinery, including fillers and packaging equipment, to support efficient and safe manufacturing. You will monitor and adjust machines throughout production, perform sanitation and line changeovers, and carry out quality inspections to ensure products meet strict standards for temperature, consistency, and overall quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate food production machines, including fillers, mixers, presses, and packaging equipment, according to production specifications and work orders.
• Monitor machine performance during production runs and make mechanical adjustments as needed to maintain optimal speed, accuracy, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues on the production line and resolve problems promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform general sanitation of machines and production areas after production is complete, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company hygiene standards.
• Conduct line changeovers between production runs, including cleaning, reconfiguring, and preparing equipment for the next product or batch.
• Perform quality inspections throughout production, including temperature checks, consistency checks, and visual inspections, to ensure products meet established standards.
• Document production activities, inspections, and any adjustments or issues in accordance with company procedures and work orders.
• Follow all safety, quality, and GMP guidelines while working on the production floor.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support efficient production flow and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of high-speed or food machine operating experience.
• At least 1 year of troubleshooting experience on production or manufacturing equipment.
• At least 1 year of inspection or quality check experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience operating fillers, packaging machinery, and other food production equipment.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and resolve basic equipment issues.
• Attention to detail when performing quality inspections, including temperature and consistency checks.
• Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation procedures.
• Willingness and ability to work on a 2nd shift schedule (approximately 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a food production environment with fillers, mixers, presses, or similar machinery.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting mechanical issues on high-speed production lines.
• Comfort working with mustard and vinegar products in a strong-smelling production environment.
• Experience performing line changeovers and cleaning production equipment between runs.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) food production facility that manufactures mustard and vinegar products, resulting in a noticeable mustard-like aroma throughout the plant. You will work around high-speed fillers, mixers, presses, and packaging machinery in a structured, safety-focused environment. The position is scheduled on 2nd shift, typically from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and may require adherence to standard food manufacturing attire and hygiene protocols appropriate for a GMP facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
