Inventory Control Specialist

We're looking for a hands-on Inventory Control Specialist to join our warehouse team at our headquarters. This is a dynamic, physical role where you'll be actively engaged with our products every day, counting inventory, organizing stock, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the warehouse floor. You'll be the backbone of our inventory operations, working directly with our team to maintain accurate records and optimize our warehouse efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts You'll be on the warehouse floor counting, verifying, and reconciling inventory to ensure accuracy
• Receive and verify inventory shipments Inspect incoming products, confirm quantities and quality, and process documentation hands-on
• Organize and maintain warehouse storage Set up proper labeling systems, organize stock locations, and keep our warehouse organized and efficient
• Input and manage inventory data Use our warehouse management system (WMS) to record and track inventory with precision
• Identify and investigate discrepancies Track down variances, identify slow-moving or obsolete stock, and solve inventory challenges
• Support the warehouse team Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow, assist with special projects, and contribute to a positive warehouse culture
• Prepare inventory reports Compile and analyze data to help management make informed decisions
• Lead physical inventory counts Help coordinate and execute year-end physical inventories and audit preparations
• Communicate and escalate issues Keep departments informed of inventory status and address problems quickly

Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software
• Strong Excel skills with demonstrated data analysis experience
• Proficiency with barcode scanning and RFID technology
• Knowledge of inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average)
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)certification preferred
• Solid understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and take initiative
• Adaptable and willing to learn new systems and technologies

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 - 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

• May require occasional weekend or shift work depending on business needs
• Exposure to warehouse environment including noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations
• May require travel to other facility locations
