About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead and advance clinical excellence, patient safety, physician engagement, and organizational performance. The CMO will be a key facilitator between system-wide strategy and local implementation, working closely with medical staff leaders, nursing, quality, patient safety, regulatory, compliance, operational, and system leadership teams. This critical leadership role requires an accomplished physician executive with a strong record in quality improvement, physician engagement, and clinical performance. The successful candidate will be accountable for a range of quality outcomes and must be adept at influencing within a complex, matrixed healthcare environment. Candidates for the CMO position at the company should possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, current or eligible physician licensure in Michigan, board certification in an ABMS-recognized specialty, and significant clinical and physician leadership experience. Advanced training in business, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred. The role demands a leader with strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and operational acumen, who can align local priorities with system-wide goals and build effective relationships across the healthcare system. The CMO will also be responsible for supporting value-based care initiatives and ensuring progress on various quality and safety programs.
