Commercial Auto Claims Consultant

We are looking for an experienced claims professional to manage high‑complexity commercial auto claims as an individual contributor with broad authority. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage highly complex investigations of claims, including coverage, liability, compensability and damages. Determine whether a major claim should be settled or litigated and implement an appropriate resolution strategy. Effectively manage loss costs and claim expenses. Manage investigative or litigation activity; post reserves in a timely manner. Coordinate discovery and litigation strategy with staff counsel or panel attorneys. Negotiate highly complex settlement packages and authorize payment within scope of authority. Coordinate third‑party recovery with the subrogation/salvage unit. Make recommendations on claims processes and resolution strategies to management. Analyze claims activities and prepare reports for management and internal partners. Work with attorneys, account representatives, agents, doctors, and insureds on highly complex claims. Keep current on state/territory regulations, industry activity, and trends. Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced claims staff. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Advanced technical and product‑specific expertise in claims resolution. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external partners. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills; manage and prioritize multiple projects. Ability to evaluate claims via cost‑benefit analysis. Ability to comprehend complex claim facts and articulate analyses. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. Ability to adapt to change and evaluate ambiguous situations using creative solutions. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Professional designation preferred. Typically a minimum of eight years claims experience. Compensation & Benefits In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of compensation. The national base pay range for this level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually, based on factors such as experience, skills, certifications, and location.
