I-5 Design Build Traveling Construction Superintendent Location: Lacey, WA Travel: 100% nationwide travel to assigned project sites, primarily the Midwest through the West Coast Compensation: $160,000 - 175,000 annually, depending on experience Lead Complex, High-End Commercial Projects, With Your Travel And Time At Home Supported. I-5 Design Build is a national design-build firm with more than 40 years of experience creating casino, hospitality, entertainment, food and beverage, and high-end commercial environments. Our integrated team handles architecture, design, fabrication, construction, and installation, allowing us to solve problems quickly and deliver ambitious projects on demanding schedules. As a Traveling Construction Superintendent, you will lead on-site construction for projects across the country. Projects typically last between two and 18 months, with an average duration of approximately eight months. This position combines traditional superintendent responsibilities with selected preconstruction and project-management duties. You will coordinate field operations, help identify and vet subcontractors, maintain project documentation, and work closely with project managers and company leadership. Travel arrangements are adapted when possible to the superintendent's circumstances. Travel and home-leave schedules are established based on project requirements and the employee's assignment. Depending on the project, schedules may include a four-weeks-on, one-week-off rotation. I-5 provides housing or travel accommodations and pays for approved flights home during scheduled rotations. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day construction activities at assigned project sites Manage project schedules, sequencing, quality, safety, and field productivity Help identify, evaluate, and coordinate qualified subcontractors Supervise subcontractors, traveling field crews, vendors, and on-site trades Confirm that work complies with drawings, specifications, codes, and company standards Maintain daily reports, schedules, inspections, manpower records, and field documentation Coordinate with project managers, designers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients Address field conditions and resolve construction or coordination issues promptlyMaintain frequent, clear communication with company leadership and the project team Provide direction and mentorship to field personnel while supporting a collaborative culture Required Qualifications At least five years of superintendent-level experience leading high-end commercial construction Experience with casino, hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or high-end retail projects Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, safety, and quality control Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and project documentation Experience coordinating and evaluating commercial subcontractors Working knowledge of Procore or comparable construction-management software Ability to develop and manage schedules using Microsoft Project or a similar platform Strong computer literacy and comfort maintaining digital project records Willingness to travel nationwide and remain near projects for extended periods Ability to work nights, weekends, extended hours, or fast-track schedules when projects require it Collaborative leadership style and comfort working with an involved management team Pay And Benefits Full-time, W-2 Employment Salary of $160,000 - $175,000 per year, depending on experience Company truck or mileage arrangement for use of an approved personal vehicle Company-provided laptop and iPad Approved flights home during scheduled rotations Company-paid housing or lodging is provided while assigned to projects away from home. Meals and incidental per diem provided at applicable GSA rates while traveling for assigned projects.
