Job Title

Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Cardiovascular / Progressive Care)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every other weekend required | 36- or 48-hour weekly contract options available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pre- and post-operative cardiovascular surgical patients as well as medical cardiac patients requiring progressive care and monitoring
• Care for vascular, amputation, and detox patient populations within a cardiovascular telemetry unit
• Manage and monitor patients on cardiac drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and other cardiac infusions
• Perform and oversee specialized procedures including chest tube management, wound vac/care, ostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, central lines, and PICCs
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (stretch ratio 1:5); may provide coverage support for LPN-assigned patients as needed
• Float within scope of practice to other areas of the facility as needed to meet operational demands

Required Qualifications

• Active West Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and PCU/IMC-level care
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
• Permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from the facility (75–100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• MAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Familiarity with cardiovascular drip management and progressive care monitoring in an acute care setting
