The role supports our supportive, inclusive work environment by managing patient appointments, admissions, discharges, clerical tasks, and cross‑departmental coordination. Responsibilities Arrange efficient and orderly appointment of patients, ensuring all registration points obtain accurate information and patients are aware of hospital policies. Identify and verify patients via ID, insurance, and appointment details. Receive, record, and verify demographics and insurance information; scan required items such as ID, insurance cards, consents, and eligibility into the billing system. Admit, discharge, and transfer patients to and from units such as ED, Skilled Nursing Facility, Psychiatric Services, SDS, and outpatient ambulatory. Assist with patient discharges and provide additional copies of physician orders as needed. Ensure patient appointment dispositions occur in real time and are accurate. Schedule according to clinic protocols and communicate any aberrations (patients who left without being seen, session closures, rescheduled patients). Assist with acclimating new staff to the department. Perform clerical and typing assignments (photocopying, memos, emails). Open and track to resolution service requests with IT, engineering, and environmental departments. Understand and adhere to all medical center and department policies. Familiarize with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements. Participate in educational programs and in‑service meetings. Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and referring physicians/agencies. Maintain a courteous and helpful work environment. Demonstrate professional, respectful attitude toward patients, families, and hospital staff. Communicate effectively with patients, assistants, and physicians both written and verbally. Work collaboratively with clinical leadership and management to develop and monitor effective policies. Ensure cross‑training of clinic members to increase clinical efficiency and promote employee development. Serve as a resource for training and acclimating new associates. Motivate clerks positively and develop teamwork. Encourage clerks’ participation and communication in decision‑making. Demonstrate initiative and flexibility in job responsibilities. Make decisions independently and proactively improve operational processes. Qualifications Education: High school graduation or equivalent (Diploma/GED). Experience: 1–3 years progressive clerical experience in a health care organization. Typing: 45 wpm. Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Proficient in English; second language a plus. Pay & Benefits Salary: $23.21 per hour.
