Overview As a Senior Purchasing Agent supporting MC Dean’s growing businesses, your role will include: Functioning as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including MC Dean’s Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing. Working closely with the core Program/Project teams to manage high visibility and high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of MC Dean’s portfolio of projects. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Procurement planning during the bidding phase, including understanding contract specifications and bills of material, sourcing, identifying, and prequalifying vendors, developing RFPs, analyzing quotes, negotiating agreements, and developing procurement plans. Post award procurement planning and implementation on major projects, including transferring bid documents, engaging with project teams, and capturing market intelligence. Evaluating market conditions such as pricing trends, lead times, and alternative product opportunities to optimize procurement strategies. Reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Traveling to project sites, manufacturers, and vendors as needed. Qualifications Required qualifications include: Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of related experience or equivalent. Experience sourcing and negotiating contracts with OEMs, subcontractors, and fabricators. Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Excel. Familiarity with accounting principles. Abilities Ability to work with extended computer screen exposure and sit for long periods. Manual dexterity for manipulating objects like keyboards. Effective listening, speaking, reading, and problem-solving skills.
