Business Data Analyst

Job Summary The Business Data Analyst supports commercial excellence by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting internal and external data to generate actionable insights that inform business decisions. This hybrid role requires onsite presence in Lake Zurich, IL for three days a week and partners with sales, marketing, contracting, and cross‑functional teams to identify performance trends, support strategic initiatives, and deliver high‑quality analytical deliverables. Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze commercial, operational, and market data to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and risks that support strategic and tactical decision‑making. Develop and manage reporting templates, dashboards, and visualizations, ensuring accuracy, validation, and business readiness of analytical outputs. Commercial Insight Generation: Conduct advanced analytics for performance measurement, brand planning, sales effectiveness, promotional evaluation, and segmentation. Prepare and present actionable commercial insights, recommendations, and forecast accuracy analysis to leadership. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Support: Partner with internal stakeholders—sales, marketing, contracting, finance, and IT—to understand analytical needs and deliver tailored solutions. Translate analytics into business cases, executive summaries, and strategic recommendations. Process & Systems Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities, propose solutions to enhance efficiency, data quality, and analytical capability. Participate in user acceptance testing for reporting tools and support enhancements to commercial data structures and reporting platforms. Communication & Documentation: Communicate complex analytical findings verbally and in writing to technical and non‑technical audiences. Document analytical processes, assumptions, and methodologies for reproducibility and continuity. Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives: Support strategic initiatives related to commercial operations, product launches, and cross‑functional projects. Conduct ad‑hoc analyses and scenario modeling to evaluate business decisions, pricing impacts, market entry, and promotional strategies. Additional Responsibilities: Attend local, national, and global meetings as needed; complete required training; support reasonable work activities assigned by management; comply with health, safety, environment, and quality management systems. Requirements Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree is a plus). 3–5years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare or related industry. Proficiency in analytics tools such as Qlik, Snowflake, Salesforce, SAP, PowerBI, SQL, Python, or R. Knowledge of medical device, hospital/pharmacy products, and/or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred. Highly self‑driven, capable of working independently and collaboratively in dynamic conditions. Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple complex projects. Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication and presentation abilities. Team player with solution‑oriented mindset and ability to build influential relationships. Experience presenting with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external business contacts while maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet business/customer needs. Location & Compensation Hybrid position; onsite in Lake Zurich, IL 3 days a week. Salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 per year, based on experience, education, and skills.
