Position Summary:

A Machine Shop Helper assists machinists and production personnel by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and keeping the shop organized to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Essential Job Duties:

·        Assist machinists with setting up machines and preparing materials for production. 

·        Load and unload raw materials, finished products, and machine components. 

·        Deburr, grind, sand, polish, and clean machined parts to meet quality standards. 

·        Measure and inspect parts using basic measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. 

·        Operate basic shop equipment, including band saws, drill presses, grinders, and material handling equipment. 

·        Clean and maintain CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other shop equipment. 

·        Organize tools, materials, and workstations to ensure an efficient workflow. 

·        Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipping or storage. 

·        Assist with inventory, stocking supplies, and receiving materials. 

·        Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes. 

·        Remove scrap materials and maintain a clean, safe work environment. 

·        Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies. 

·        Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or Lead Machinist. 

Qualifications

·        High school diploma or GED preferred. 

·        Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or machine shop experience is preferred but not required. 

·        Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processes. 

·        Ability to read a tape measure; experience with calipers and other measuring tools is a plus. 

·        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. 

·        Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a fast-paced industrial environment. 

Pay $ 18.00 

Schedule 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
