Insurance Underpayments Analyst

Responsibilities Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (ARCBO) or Central Billing Office (CBO) provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals. The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking an Insurance Underpayments Analyst – Central. The primary responsibility is the resolution of over- and under-payment discrepancies on paid accounts, review of the PRM, ensuring proper maintenance, participation in contract review, and timely completion of other tasks. Key Responsibilities Respond to manager’s requests in a timely manner. Recognize variances regarding payments from all third-party carriers. Advise manager on discrepancies to ensure corrections are made to each plan. Correct log errors promptly and satisfactorily. Document actions in the note screen of the Patient Accounting system. Maintain accurate cost payer logs in accordance with insurance regulations and requirements. Post allowed adjustments as needed to assigned accounts. Escalate problems with accounts or require additional intervention to management for resolution. Contact third-party payers when reimbursement amounts change to determine necessary corrections. Qualifications Position requirements include: Proactive, assertive communication of payer claims processing philosophies. Understanding of complex managed care agreements. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Customer-focused, consistently exceeding expectations for internal and external customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other required applications. Ability to prioritize needs and manage resources. High school diploma or equivalent; 1–3 years of contract analysis experience preferred.
