Overview
Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) - combined adult/pediatric ED - Massena, New York. Start date: 06/15/2026. Travel - temporary assignment for Weeks. Weekly pay: $2,034-$2,146. Shift: 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. (12-hour days) on a 3x12 schedule. Orientation: 48 hours. Unit census is ~40 patients daily with 9 rooms and 10 beds. Unit type: Emergency Department serving neonates through geriatrics with adult and pediatric care. RN will float as needed with a 1:3 patient-to-nurse ratio on all shifts. NY RN license in hand required to submit. EPIC charting experience required; Pyxis medication system in use; SBAR communication standard. Pre-approved time off limited to 7 days; 1 day pre-approved. Locals not accepted; candidate must reside >75 miles from the facility. COVID-19 vaccine not required. Valid through 09/14/2026.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct emergency nursing care in a combined adult/pediatric ED, including triage, rapid assessment, and ongoing resuscitation.
- Manage airway, breathing, circulation including dysrhythmia interpretation, IV access, vasopressors, blood products, and procedural sedation as indicated.
- Monitor and care for ventilated patients (BiPAP/CPAP), stroke and head injury patients, and implement isolation precautions/PPE as required.
- Administer medications per orders with accurate documentation in EPIC; utilize Pyxis for medication administration; coordinate with Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary.
- Perform procedures within ED scope and support stabilization, diagnostic testing, and necessary interventions; communicate changes and patient status via SBAR.
- Provide age-appropriate care for patients from neonates to geriatrics, including family communication, discharge planning, and patient education as needed.
- Maintain unit safety, infection control practices, and data accuracy in charting; participate in continuous quality and performance improvement activities.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license at time of submission
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (TNCC preferred)
- Minimum 2 years ER experience; travel experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers
- EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to float within the ED; comfortable with combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Locational requirement: candidate must reside >75 miles from the facility
- Education: RN degree/diploma per state requirements; eligible to practice in New York
