Job Summary This position is an evening/night floor assistant nurse manager who will supervise Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and NICU Units. The schedule is mostly evenings/nights, 40 hours per week with some weekend availability required as leadership dictates. This leader will oversee the charge nurses, troubleshoot, perform performance appraisals, coach and other leadership functions. Unit Overview Certified Baby Friendly High employee retention L&D Unit - 14 beds, 3 OR suites & 8 triage beds with roughly 80-90 staff Postpartum Unit - roughly 80-90 staff Level III NICU - recently renovated, roughly 60 staff Tour our MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center's Women’s Pavilion: L&D, Postpartum, OB Triage & OR will be part of a new women's pavilion build in FY 2024-2025 Minimum Qualifications License/Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure valid in the State of Maryland. BLS required. Women’s Health RN national certification preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required; master's degree in nursing or health related field from a nationally accredited program preferred Experience: 3-4 years of progressive nursing care experience required; leadership and management experience preferred. 2+ years of Women’s Health RN experience, particularly in labor and delivery, strongly preferred KSAs: Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment on complex situations. Verbal and written communication skills.
