Laboratory AssistantIn this challenging role, you will be supporting the CPT-Computer Technology department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.Install, configure, and maintain B&T classroom and open lab computer equipmentProvide technical support when needed in the computer classrooms and computer open labsAssist in the maintenance of the Division's computer equipment inventorySupport and man the B&T Open Lab and classroomCPT Lab Assistants act as the Business & Technology (B&T) Computer Technology Lab Assistant for the B&T Division faculty, staff, and student laboratory computer systems. This position reports to the Department Head of Computer Technology and is expected to function with a limited amount of supervision and be innovative in accomplishing tasks as prioritized by the Department Head/Dean/OIT.Greenville Technical College is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in South Carolina and we invite you to consider becoming a part of our team! Visit to learn more.Minimum qualifications:Must be a current GTC student enrolled in the Computer Technology program and must have completed first year program requirements as well as a student in good academic standing; or a recent graduate of the CPT program.Must have experience with Windows 10, Windows 8.x, Windows 7, Linux, other operating systems.Must have experience installing and maintaining PC software.Must have excellent technical skills and organizational ability.Must be knowledgeable of computer hardware equipment, peripherals, and common office computer hardware and software.Must have experience installing and maintaining PC hardware.Strong ability to analyze complex software and hardware problems and provide solution in a timely manner; and strong communication skills encompassing verbal, written, and computer formats are also desired.Be capable of performing unsupervised installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.Strong interpersonal capabilities in providing assistant to faculty, staff, and students.Be able to lift 50 poundsWork outside of the normal work hours when required.Greenville Technical College is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans are encouraged to apply (EOE/AA/M/F/D/V).
