Assess and evaluate patients across various ages by utilizing standardized methodologies and hands-on observations.
Craft tailored treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions focusing on areas including communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge comprehensive care plans.
Guide patients and their families in strategies to promote progress beyond clinical environments.
Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuity in each patient's treatment journey.
Keep timely and accurate records that meet state, federal, and organizational standards.
Embrace ongoing professional growth by staying updated with the latest developments in your field through education and peer interactions.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in preparation for ASHA certification if not already obtained.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
Possess a solid understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities for a spectrum of ages, alongside a keen knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exemplify excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary care teams.
Adeptness in adapting therapeutic techniques to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Show robust clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
