Laboratory Technician

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Summit, IL, 60501. Details of the position are as follows:


Job Description:

• Pay: $25.00/hr to start!
• 2-year contract to start with the possibility of extension or conversion based on budget and performance.
• Shift: Monday- Friday, Flexible 7:00am- 5:00pm (8-hour shift), onsite position.
• Position will mainly be responsible for maintaining a strong commitment to safety by following standard safety procedures and corporate policies, participating in safety meetings, implementing personal safety plans, working safely with hot asphalt and chemicals, and maintaining a clean, organized laboratory environment.
• Responsibilities also include performing asphalt quality testing including rotational viscosity, penetration, flash point, and other ASTM/AASHTO test methods, collecting, analyzing, and documenting test data, troubleshooting product results and laboratory instruments, and supporting multiple testing projects.
• Position will also be responsible for supporting laboratory operations through instrument calibration, preventative maintenance, inventory management, housekeeping, maintaining testing certifications, and ensuring laboratory readiness.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree is required!
• Previous academic or professional lab experience or manufacturing background is required.
• Experience with MS Office is preferred.
• Experience with data collection Is preferred.
• Experience with lab maintenance and inventory is preferred.
