Clinical Adjunct Instructor, Nursing Program

Responsibilities Teach clinical sections for undergraduate nursing students each semester Collaborate with course faculty to supervise pre‑licensure nursing students in their clinical settings Evaluate students’ written assignments and clinical performance Participate in on‑campus lab or simulation activities with their clinical groups Serve as a liaison to clinical agencies Teaching schedule may include days, evenings, and/or weekends Required Qualifications Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered state of Connecticut RN license Master’s degree in Nursing Current clinical experience in a relevant area Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience with recent clinical teaching experience in an academic setting Expertise in adult health, community health, or psych/mental health Experience in health assessment and skills lab instruction Preferred Attributes Cultural Skills: values diversity, equity, and inclusion; strong organizational skills; proven ability to collaborate effectively with partners in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment Technology Skills: proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e‑mail, and the Internet; ability to quickly learn new applications and information systems; adept at leveraging learning management systems and other teaching‑related technology tools Language Skills: strong oral and written communication skills; ability to provide information and respond positively to questions from external and internal stakeholders; ability to write routine reports and correspondence clearly and professionally Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and manage various variables in situations with limited standardization; ability to interpret instructions supplied in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; ability to work independently and as part of a team; capacity to apply theoretical knowledge and logical reasoning as appropriate Physical Requirements Capacity to lift and position up to 50 pounds, carry up to 25 pounds, and bend and stoop as required for nursing care and lab activities Ability to sit for extended periods at a keyboard and to ambulate between classes and buildings on campus Requirement to be physically present at the designated worksite during scheduled work hours Normal range of vision and hearing with or without correction Albertus Magnus College is strongly committed to the principles and practices of diversity throughout the College community.
