First Independent Agency is looking for a Commercial Rater & Account Support Specialist to join our growing commercial insurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance professional who enjoys working with multiple carriers, preparing competitive quotes, and keeping opportunities moving from prospect to policy .

You'll play an important role in supporting producers while also gaining valuable exposure to commercial insurance, carrier relationships, and account management.

What You'll Do

• Quote new commercial insurance opportunities using multiple carrier platforms.
• Prepare remarketing submissions and gather information needed for renewal opportunities.
• Work closely with producers to move prospects through the quoting and binding process.
• Compare coverage, pricing, and carrier options to help prepare competitive proposals.
• Communicate with insurance carriers regarding quotes, underwriting questions, and account requirements.
• Follow up on outstanding information and keep opportunities moving forward.
• Assist with certificates, policy changes, endorsements, and other account service needs.
• Maintain accurate client and policy information in the agency management system.
• Help ensure policies are issued and documented accurately and on time.
• Provide general administrative and account support to the commercial team.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities .

• Commercial insurance experience required.
• Familiarity with insurance rating platforms and agency management systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong follow-up and time-management abilities.
• Comfortable working with multiple insurance carriers and technology platforms.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to jump in and help.
• Professional, dependable, and motivated to grow.

The Details
Full-time | Monday–Friday | Onsite in Clinton Township, MI

Competitive salary based on experience; open to discussion with candidate.

This is an in-office position; remote work is not available.
