Assistant Teaching Professor - Department of Political Science

Overview The Department of Political Science at Bowling Green State University seeks an Assistant Teaching Professor to teach undergraduate courses in Political Science, focusing on American politics. This is a nonrenewable (one‑year), full‑time academic year appointment with a start date of August 2026. Responsibilities Teach general education classes in American government and other undergraduate courses in American politics as needed. Maintain an expected teaching load of four courses (12 credit hours) per semester. Provide service to the department, college, and university, particularly related to the implementation of the American Civic Literacy requirement and collaboration with the Integrated Social Studies Program. Qualifications ABD or Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related field (e.g., government). Area of specialization in American politics. Preferred Qualifications Experience as instructor of record in at least one political science college‑level course, focusing on American government. Experience teaching classes of more than fifty students. One publication in a peer‑reviewed political science (or related) journal. Ph.D. in hand at time of application.
