Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on assigned units within the healthcare facility. This role requires the ability to float between Med/Surg, Rehab, and Geri Psych units as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and promote the mission and values of the organization.
• Render professional nursing care to patients, carrying out orders placed by the physician responsible for the patient's medical care.
• Provide comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans, each shift.
• Seek feedback regarding nursing practice and act accordingly.
• Communicate patient information to ensure continuity and safe care through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding.
• Complete required net learning modules within specified timeframes.
• Promote a culture of well-being by addressing issues such as alarm fatigue.
• Foster a positive culture and atmosphere within the department each shift.
• Ensure patient, visitor, and staff safety by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
• Identify and assist in correcting patient care safety issues, working within the Just Culture environment to promote error reporting and safe practices.
• Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles and understand the organization's overall strategic plan.
• Stay current with unit-based nurse-sensitive indicators and actively engage in quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with nurses in other departments/specialties to utilize expertise from various clinical areas.
• Assist all team members and develop performance goals based on self-assessment and feedback.
• Ensure patient education materials are culturally competent.
• Serve as a preceptor for new nurses and participate in readiness for accrediting surveys.
• Demonstrate commitment to shared governance and assist in conflict resolution.
• Effectively delegate aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with nursing students and instructors, participating in peer feedback processes for annual reviews.
• Participate in employee engagement surveys and maintain nursing licensure and required certifications.

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in New Hampshire required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Basic dysrhythmia knowledge preferred or must be obtained before the end of orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or must be obtained before the end of orientation.

Note: Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid. The organization reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
