Senior Staff Engineer

Role Description
The Senior Staff Engineer is responsible for architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed backend and platform solutions, as well as delivering full-stack work (Java/Spring plus Angular or React, as the product requires).
- Setting the quality standard in testing (unit, integration, and acceptance automation) and in deployment (CI/CD, safe releases, and pipeline discipline).
- Providing technical leadership.
- Mentoring engineers.
- Leading architecture and code reviews.
- Strengthening inner-source contributions to upstream repositories.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience.
- Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems fundamentals.
- Full-stack: Angular or React (TypeScript, components, API consumption) in addition to backend.
- System design, performance, and reliability.
- AWS.
- Kubernetes/EKS (or ECS).
- Testing (unit, integration, acceptance automation) and deployment (CI/CD, pipelines, promotions, rollback awareness).
- OpenAPI.
- Jenkins.
- SonarQube.
- Veracode or Checkmarx (or equivalent).
- Kafka-oriented patterns or similar as roadmap needs dictate.
- Draw.io (or equivalent).
- Security awareness.
- Strong computer science fundamentals.
- AI-native mindset per policy.
Requirements
- Advanced/fluent conversational English.
- Mandatory AI: Cursor (or equivalent), Claude, MCP where applicable, and agentic engineering practices — modeling best practices for the squad.
