Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst.This position will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and perform financial reporting activities for our Defense Systems Sector. This high impact role will work closely with sector, division, and program business management teams. The position will require sitting onsite in McLean, Virginia.Position Responsibilities and duties include:Assist with the sector monthly and quarterly financial close deliverablesCoordinate and consolidate financial statementsMaintain month-end closing documentationAssist with preparation of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packagesPrepare financial statement analytics and other quarterly management reportsProvide audit support related to SOX, internal, and external financial statement auditsSupport Financial Reporting SOX compliance and maintain evidence of the operation of controlsProvide financial reporting support for special projectsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, Must have 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.Experience with financial statements and general accounting principlesMust be able to work onsite in McLean, Virginia.**Directly relevant Public Accounting may account for an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience**Preferred Qualifications:Public accounting experienceCertified public accountantExperience with SAP and Hyperion Financial ManagementPrior experience in the aerospace and defense industrySelf-motivated, yet functions well in a team environmentDetail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditionsAnalytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experience.Excellent organizational and prioritization skillsPrimary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
