Alpha completes academic instruction in just two morning hours using adaptive learning technology. This structure allows you to concentrate on what drives lasting impact: coaching students toward learning independence while developing the Guides who enable that transformation. You will be accountable for outcomes within a K-3 cohort, leveraging observation, data, and coaching to ensure each child develops exceptional life skills, learns at twice the typical pace, and genuinely loves school. This role differs from both instructional coach and principal positions. Your days won't be consumed by administrative tasks or endless meetings. Instead, you'll work directly in classrooms, evaluating Guide and student performance, facilitating workshops on focus, resilience, communication, and accountability, and coaching children and adults toward quantifiable progress. Your impact will extend beyond your immediate cohort. You'll capture effective practices, develop playbooks that elevate school-wide standards, and contribute to Alpha's approach for developing future Guides. What You Will Be Doing Use classroom observations, performance data, and direct feedback to coach Guides and students toward measurable improvement. Design and deliver engaging workshops for K-3 students that build communication, collaboration, resilience, focus, accountability, and other life skills. Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching that links student motivation with academic independence and growth. Create and refine replicable coaching playbooks that elevate Guide team performance. Mentor and train Guides while demonstrating exceptional coaching and facilitation daily. What You Won’t Be Doing Teaching traditional lessons or presenting academic content through lecture; adaptive technology manages core academics. Addressing discipline through punitive measures or reducing expectations when students face challenges. Operating from an office rather than engaging directly with Guides and students daily. Managing campus operations, parent communications, or budgets; your concentration is outcome improvement and people development. Adhering to conventional elementary school methods simply because \"that's the way it's always been done.\" Youth Development Director Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha's three promises for every K-3 student by developing high-performing Guides, highly motivated students, and a coaching culture that reliably generates exceptional life and academic outcomes. Basic Requirements Available to work in person at an Alpha campus in Miami, FL or New York City, NY; relocation assistance is available Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Organizational Leadership, Business, Psychology, Education, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5-9). Experience managing teams of five or more people, including hiring and performance management responsibilities. Experience significantly growing, launching, or building a program, team, school, or initiative rather than simply maintaining existing operations. Proven success leveraging measurable outcomes and data to enhance student or team performance. Enthusiastic about challenging traditional education models and adopting a coaching-first approach. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in a related field. Experience with performance metrics, analytics, or dashboards to drive continuous improvement. Proven track record coaching adults to measurable performance outcomes. Background in competitive coaching, youth development, camps, enrichment programs, or other high-accountability environments. Strong facilitation and public speaking skills with young children.
