Culinary Manager

The Culinary Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and service of meals, planning menus and managing staff. Opportunity Details Schedule: Full‑Time 80 hours bi‑weekly (10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday – every other weekend/holiday rotation Leader on duty weekend rotation (approximately every 12 weeks) Pay: Targeted pay range: $58,000.00 – $68,000.00 annually. Pay determined by experience, qualifications, certifications, licenses, and education. Responsibilities Ensure quality meals are prepared, cooked, and served to residents, families, guests, and employees. Hire, supervise, train, and mentor dining staff while maintaining adequate staffing levels. Create menus that enhance the dining experience, utilizing nutrition knowledge, special diets, and resident input; menus are reviewed by a Registered Dietitian. Monitor food and supply inventory levels and ordering. Assist all workers and positions in the dining department; identify tasks and provide assistance as needed. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, complying with state and federal rules, regulations, and facility policies. Partner with department leaders to ensure adequate products and labor for facility special events and activities. Provide input on the annual dining department budget and operate within this budget. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications High School Graduate or GED. Certified Food Protection Manager in accordance with MN Department of Health or expected within 90 days of hire. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Adherence to all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the facility (including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations). Preferred Qualifications Certified Dietary Manager in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health. Previous experience in food service management within a senior living environment. Experience in inventory control, food cost analysis, menu planning, and event planning. Licenses & Certifications Certified Food Protection Manager (required). ServSafe certification (required).
