Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

About the Role

This role involves overseeing shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations for our client, a pioneering company in custom flexible packaging and components. It exists to ensure seamless operations and inventory accuracy, contributing significantly to the organization's efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and engage in daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse tasks.
• Conduct hands-on activities including unloading, loading, and verifying shipments.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment efficiently.
• Ensure accuracy and condition of shipments; address discrepancies promptly.
• Manage documentation such as Bills of Lading and packing slips.
• Coordinate carrier pickups and manage related documentation.
• Support production by transferring materials to necessary areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse with a focus on 5S principles.
• Guarantee inventory accuracy through cycle counting and physical inventories.
• Reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure system accuracy.
• Train team members on material handling and system transactions.
• Continuously improve warehouse processes and business systems.

Minimum Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in shipping and receiving, with leadership roles.
• Proven forklift operation skills; certification preferred.
• Strong background in inventory control and ERP systems; Infor/Syteline preferred.
• Excellent math, computer, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and train a diverse team effectively.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communicator with strong decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and perform repetitive motions regularly.
• Capable of lifting and moving up to 40 pounds.
• Proficient in safely operating forklifts and other equipment.
