Preconstruction Coordinator

Role Description The Preconstruction Coordinator is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Westlake, OH. This position supports the preconstruction process by reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents, preparing accurate takeoffs, and assisting with pricing and proposals. The coordinator will liaise with internal teams and external partners to clarify project requirements, track bid schedules, and ensure timely submission of estimates and supporting documentation. Daily responsibilities include organizing project information, maintaining preconstruction records, updating tracking tools, and helping identify risks or value‑engineering opportunities. The role also involves communicating clearly with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to project execution. Qualifications Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, construction documents, and specifications, with strong attention to detail. Experience with estimating or preconstruction activities, including quantity takeoffs, pricing support, and bid coordination. Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with construction or project management software is beneficial. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with cross‑functional teams and external partners. Analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including basic math skills and comfort with cost and margin calculations. Prior experience in construction, commercial interiors, or related fields is preferred; knowledge of glass or wall systems is a plus.
