Job Description and Duties

THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

The Unemployment Insurance Support Division (UISD) is seeking to recruit an innovative and motivated individual to join the team. The analyst position is in the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program Policy & Specialized Programs Section, Customer Support Unit. Division team members support the delivery of the UI program, policy and procedure development, and UI automation efforts.

As a UI Program Analyst in the Customer Support Unit, you will participate in various work groups; analyze,  resolve, and provide written summaries to internal and external stakeholders regarding complicated UI claim issues; develop and/or update policy and procedures; prepare UI Program Notices (UIPNs), UI Manual Amendments, memorandums, etc.; research and respond to management regarding issues or changes; prepare analyses on proposed legislation; assist with providing technical support, advice, and/or training to field office staff; and participate in UI program automation/modernization efforts.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change as business needs arise.

EDD employees will be required to report to their assigned office on their designated in-office days.  California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the EDD's policies.

Home Internet is required for telework.

Due to operational needs, employees may be required, at any given time, to report to work at their designated EDD headquarters. Currently, employees have a hybrid work schedule but may be required to work in the office per business needs.

Statement of Qualifications Requirements
