Job Title: Microbiology Technician (Cleaning R&D) Location: Pleasanton, California Type: Contract Compensation: $25 - $26 hourly Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: PART TIME, Tuesday-Thursday 8 AM-5 PM Responsibilities Apply technical microbiological knowledge (primarily surface sanitization and disinfection) to new and existing test methods while supporting projects and programs across the businesses, working collaboratively with Scientists and other Technicians on the Microbiology Team. Day‑to‑day activities include media prep, routine testing execution, new test method development & validation, data analysis, and related lab maintenance. Support the Cleaning Business strategy by leading with #1 brands in the cleaning, sanitization, and disinfection categories. The role is responsible for the prep, execution, and data analysis of laboratory testing in conjunction with guidance from Scientists and oversight of the Group Manager, contributing to critical internal R&D formulation development required to establish robust products and method development for various initiatives. Implement tools, resources, and practices that increase microbiological capacity while working safely alongside other team members. Requirements BS Degree in biology, biotechnology, or microbiology. Background in biology, biotechnology, or microbiology. Experience with aseptic techniques and dilution procedures. Execute a variety of simple to complex microbiological laboratory experiments in collaboration with other technicians and scientists. Collaborate with scientists to collect, evaluate, and present data to inform teams and enable project decisions. Pursue constant improvement and innovation of techniques to drive efficiency and enhanced capabilities within the microbiology laboratory. Manage the microbiology laboratory in collaboration with other technicians through laboratory upkeep, maintenance, and ordering all equipment and supplies.
