Temporary Upward Bound Non-Credit Lecturer Foundations and Seminars

As the Non-Credit Lecturer for Foundations and Seminars you will need to think creatively and be comfortable working with a diverse student population. You will be an active member of the Upward Bound team and will work closely with the Director to help build high school student's skillset for higher education. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your teaching experience and excellent communication skills all while, propelling students towards success. To be successful in this role, you must be detail-oriented, creative, and have strong interpersonal skills. Your normal hours will be on Saturday's 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true non-credit lecturer. This is a temporary grant funded role from August 28th, 2026, to May 8th, 2027. The role is continually contingent upon this grant funding. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the Upward Bound operations humming. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties) Co-teach coursespertaining to financial aid / FAFSA. Aid studentswith interpreting PSAT, SAT, and ACT results. Assist studentsin developing pre-college resumes. Conductworkshops for students pertaining to leadership, learning styles, decision-making,and community service. Intervene andcounsel students as needed and report areas of concern to the programadministrative staff. What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field. Master’s degree preferred Prior experience in TRIO Upward Bound or similar program preferred. Experience with local school districts preferred. Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required. Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
