ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains and supports QMS per ISO 9001:2015 standards and requirements.
• Supports the audit process with customers and or ISO Auditors.
• Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards, testing materials and product.
• Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with engineering, technicians, production personnel and management.
• Establishes raw material standards by studying engineering / manufacturing requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.
• Participates in evaluation, planning, integration, testing, and completion activities in Quality projects. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Gathers and correlates data and distributes to engineering, manufacturing, and management for review.
• Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; devising testing methods and procedures to maintain Quality Assurance Standards.
• Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures. This will include rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
• Establishes product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
• Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
• Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing metrics and summarizing information and trends including ECN notifications and review with the engineering staff.
• Oversees Inspection processes

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

• Communicates directly with prospective or existing customers in providing quality documents and supports matters that are related to quality assurance and quality control matters. Must support the sales organization where needed from a quality / technical perspective.

 

• May coordinate company technical engineering staff to support and service the customers' requests and needs.

 

• May assists in the review and preparation of the specifications and related contract documents to be used in projects and bids.

 

• Participates and assists in planning, specification writing, plan review, or inspection activities necessary for the completion of projects.

 

• Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.

 

• Maintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 4 years industry related experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or technical school / trade school, including 4 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to read and interpret technical documents / drawings, follow routers, and use basic handheld measuring tools.

Computer literacy required: Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Power Point, Word and Data Base software / Crystal Reports. Spring Design Software tools.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Demonstrate college level reading, math and comprehension skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, supervisors, customers and vendors as required.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Light to moderate physical effort required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work performed in a Quality Laboratory / Plant/Manufacturing Shop environment.

WILL BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS REQUESTED, DIRECTED OR ASSIGNED BY DEPARTMENT MANAGERS / OWNER.
