Medical Director - Commercial

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Director - Commercial to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This remote opportunity is focused on providing clinical leadership for medical management activities within a health plan environment. The role will support utilization review processes, help guide program development, and serve as a clinical resource to internal teams and external providers. It is well suited for a physician who can balance medical judgment, regulatory awareness, and member-focused decision-making in a payer setting. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $174,070 – $374,920 annually Responsibilities Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and medical programs Support medical management staff with timely responses to members and providers Handle prior authorization, pre-certification, and concurrent review activities Conduct peer-to-peer calls and assist with first-level appeals Provide clinical expertise in support of medical management programs Serve as a liaison to network providers to support effective delivery of medical services Qualifications 2+ years of experience in health care delivery systems, clinical practice, and the health care industry Active and current state medical license without encumbrances M.D. or D.O. with board certification in a recognized specialty 5+ years of direct patient care experience preferred Prior utilization management experience in a health plan or payer environment desirable Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off Retirement savings options Wellness programs and resources Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
