Description The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City Health + Hospitals Queens is seeking a Chief of Anesthesiology. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s Affiliation with New York City Health + Hospitals | Queens serves culturally diverse communities in Queens, New York, and seeks a physician leader to join our team at Queens as the Chief of Anesthesiology. Queens Hospital was recognized at the ASCO plenary session for its research efforts in enrolling patients in a diverse community, and we welcome candidates who are interested in being investigators in clinical trials for cooperative group studies, pharmaceutical studies, and/or physician-initiated studies where you will have the full support of our knowledgeable research staff for both regulatory and clinical needs. Experienced physician assistants within the urology department assist with inpatient, outpatient, and operative patient care. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island. New York City Health + Hospitals/Queens and Elmhurst are acute care facilities and part of the largest municipal healthcare system in the country. They are modern medical centers with Centers of Excellence in Women’s Health, Cancer Care, Diabetes Care, and Behavioral Health, serving the most culturally diverse, underserved population in the world with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. State‑of‑the‑art facilities include a total of three DaVinci Xi surgical robots – two at Elmhurst and one at Queens – multiple PAs/NPs and urology residents at each site. Both are COC‑designated Cancer Centers of Excellence, and Elmhurst is a Level 1 Trauma Center. Responsibilities Responsible for the administration, planning, organizing and overall general management of the Anesthesia department. Provide services to patients of all ages, with possible multiple diseases, trauma, pregnancy or other complications. Qualifications Must have an MD or DO degree. Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). Valid New York State license, DEA and Medicaid number. Strong clinical abilities, teaching experience, communication and interpersonal skills. Prior management/leadership positions and experience with academic medical centers and/or public health systems are preferred. We also offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. Compensation ranges from 469K to 525k (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
