Physician - Community Oncology Leader / Specialist in Breast Cancer

Community Breast Oncology Leader OHSU Knight Cancer Institute | Oregon Health & Science University Position Overview The Community Breast Oncology Leader will provide clinical leadership for breast cancer services across five community oncology locations within the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute network. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with disease‑specific experts on OHSU’s main campus to establish and maintain consistent standards of care, expand access to innovative therapies, and increase participation in clinical trials within community settings. While serving as the breast oncology leader, the physician will practice as a community hematologist/oncologist and participate in the care of patients with a broad range of oncologic and hematologic conditions. Primary clinical responsibilities will be based at the Good Samaritan and Meridian Park locations, with leadership oversight extending across all community oncology sites. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and standardization of breast cancer care across OHSU community oncology locations. Collaborate with breast oncology faculty and multidisciplinary teams at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute to align clinical pathways and treatment standards. Expand clinical trial availability and participation for breast cancer patients treated in community settings. Provide comprehensive outpatient oncology care with a primary focus on breast cancer. Participate in shared call responsibilities within the Community Hematology Oncology program. Support quality improvement initiatives, program growth, and strategic planning efforts. Participate in divisional, institutional, and community partnership activities. Contribute to the academic mission through teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activities. Academic Opportunities Teach fellows, residents, and medical students. Participate in clinical research and clinical trial development. Mentor trainees in a community-based longitudinal oncology practice. Collaborate with nationally recognized breast cancer investigators and multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications – Required MD, DO, MD/PhD, MBBS, or equivalent medical degree. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Oregon. Demonstrated expertise in the treatment of breast cancer. Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care within a community oncology setting. Qualifications – Preferred Prior leadership experience in breast oncology, program development, or quality initiatives. Experience with clinical trial implementation and enrollment.
