The Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of nursing practice standards while providing direct resident care and clinical leadership. This role oversees nursing staff, ensures quality patient outcomes, promotes regulatory compliance, and supports daily healthcare operations.
Essential ResponsibilitiesSupervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other healthcare team members during assigned shifts.
Provide professional nursing care and restorative services to residents.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care, assessments, and reports.
Ensure medications are administered and treatments are performed according to physician orders and established policies.
Conduct regular rounds to assess residents' physical and mental health status.
Assist physicians during resident rounds and clinical evaluations.
Participate in required in-service training, continuing education, and staff meetings.
Manage and maintain electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Oversee infection prevention practices, medication management, and nursing policies and procedures.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and retention of licensed and unlicensed nursing staff.
Contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Support occupancy and census growth through exceptional resident care and service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and maintains competency in assigned responsibilities.
Delivers safe, effective, and resident-centered care.
Communicates clearly and professionally with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
Maintains accurate documentation and timely reporting.
Motivates and supports team members while promoting accountability and high performance.
Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends solutions.
Responds effectively to changing priorities and clinical situations.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push up to 250 pounds independently.
Ability to safely assist residents using proper body mechanics.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
Minimal travel is expected. Occasional travel may be required for training, continuing education, emergency situations, or organizational meetings.
Qualifications RequiredCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office software.
Strong organizational, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
Two or more years of experience in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or senior living environment.
Previous supervisory or management experience.
Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and staff development programs.
