Officer Space Operations OfficerThe possibilities of enhancing our military effectiveness through the use of space are virtually endless. Space Operations Officers direct the entire system utilizing satellites that enhance our communication and tracking. They oversee space surveillance, space lift, space warning and satellite command and control. By assessing the effectiveness of all space operations and incorporating new technology as it becomes available, they develop future plans for systems, facilities and personnel in order to defend our nation.What You'll DoFormulate space operations policiesEstablish training requirements and performance standards for all systemsCoordinate space operations activitiesPlan, organize and direct space operations programsProvide guidance on proper use and care of sensitive materialsTraining & EducationHow do we transform you into a leader and an officer in this field? From education to continued training, your Air Force path is here.Officer Training School 8.5 weeksMilitary Training Location Maxwell AFB, ALKey Things To Consider RequirementsYou must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.Any Bachelor or Master of Science degreeKnowledge of space systems, policies and related areasCompletion of the prerequisite Undergraduate Space Training (UST)Completion of required specialty coursesNormal color visionCompletion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA) or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday
