Director, Data & Insights

Position Summary Director, Data & Insights – based in Washington, DC (hybrid work – onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). Reports to the Chief Program Officer and serves as a strategic advisor to the Global Program Council on data‑driven insights. Responsibilities Leadership and Management Lead the Global Programs Data & Insights team, set strategy, build and manage high‑performance staff. Provide data‑driven, research‑based recommendations for key strategies and decisions. Model IJM values and contribute to leadership teams and forums. Documentation, Reporting & Data Management Develop and maintain reporting processes, visualization tools, dashboards, and documentation backlogs. Ensure accurate requirements documentation, testing processes, and data quality procedures. Establish data governance policies and procedures. Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation Build consensus on future business intelligence and analytics needs across the organization. Develop phased roadmaps for products and tools in partnership with the CPO, GPC and other leaders. Drive ongoing development of self‑service reporting systems and special ad hoc analysis. Networking & Partnership Maintain relationships with key counterparts across Global Technology Solutions, Legal, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Global Programs, regions, and external contacts. Policies and Procedures Own all data‑related policies, standards, business processes, and tools. Coordinate team workload, prioritization, and output. General Tasks Interview, hire, and onboard new staff. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. At least 12 years of progressive experience, ideally with enterprise data systems and international organizations. At least 5 years of senior leadership experience with personnel management. Training in business intelligence, data analytics, and reporting. Strong experience with Salesforce reporting and Tableau preferred. Experience managing remote teams across cultures. Competence in Salesforce or another enterprise‑level CRM. Ability to extract, transform, load, and visualize data from multiple sources. Training in data hygiene, quality techniques, analytics and visualization best practices. Knowledge of non‑profit finance requirements and US/global data privacy regulations.
