Job Details

This role is ideal for an attorney who wants to build or continue developing a long-term civil-defense practice with meaningful case responsibility, direct client interaction, and support from an established team of experienced insurance-defense attorneys.

The practice may include matters involving:

General Liability
Premises Liability
Automobile Liability
Transportation / Trucking
Property Damage
Catastrophic Injury
Wrongful Death
Products Liability
Medical Malpractice
Construction Defect
Insurance Coverage
Other complex civil-defense matters
Responsibilities
Manage an active civil-litigation caseload
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
Take and defend depositions
Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
Review medical records, damages materials, and expert reports
Develop defense strategy alongside partners and clients
Communicate directly with carriers and insured clients
Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing levels of case ownership
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active bar admission in the applicable state
Prior litigation experience preferred
Insurance defense or general liability experience strongly preferred
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Experience with discovery, depositions, and motion practice
Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple matters
Strong client-service and communication skills
